Introduction
The Sylvia Armit School of Dance was established in Ely in 1993 and has run successful dance courses ever since.
Tuition is offered by fully qualified registered teachers of the Royal Academy of Dance and the International Dance Teachers Association.
Our teachers are former professional dancers of leading roles in "The Nutcracker", "Swan Lake", "Cinderella", "Sleeping Beauty" and others, with the ability to pass on first-hand knowledge and experience of the art.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the school a school production was put on. We performed the ballet "The Nutcracker" by the Russion composer P.I.Tchaikovsky in which all pupils of the school where involved.
The school also organises visits to ballet performances and trips abroad.
In October 2001, a group of pupils performed excerpts from our version of the ballet "Tales of Beatrix Potter" in Paris.
